Variable modes are now always selectable
Variable modes that were previously disabled are now always selectable. When a variable with an incompatible mode is selected, it will use its default value instead.
In the past, incompatible modes were disabled. Now, they will be selectable. When a variable with an incompatible mode is selected, it uses its default value.
