Weekly update: Windows enterprise deployment, Jira workflow transitions, and UX improvements

Miro released UX improvements including better mouse navigation, scrollbars, and improved selection; Windows app now supports enterprise deployment via Microsoft Installer; workflow transitions for Jira Cards are now available across most plan tiers to support Agile workflows.

Miro board UX improvements We released a bundle of UX improvements to make using Miro more intuitive: Better mouse navigation Previously, mouse users accidentally moved board objects when trying to pan with the left mouse button. Now Miro customers need to use the right button to pan, which prevents them from making unwanted board edits. Adding scrollbars Some users don't realise Miro canvas is infinite, and that it's possible to navigate the board beyond the default viewport. We are changing this perception by adding horizontal & vertical scrollbars to the board. Improved input device detection We are now detecting mouse or trackpad change in real time & syncing change across all open tabs as well as giving users an option to turn auto-detection off and stick to their mode of choice. Easy & precise selection Selection of sticky notes, shapes, text, emojis, frames, and lines is now much easier because we allow to select them when the lasso is touching only ~1% of the object. Double-click shortcut deprecation Previously, double-click on Miro boards created a new sticky note, text widget, shape, or card depending on what’s been used the latest. We deprecated this behavior because it was not something the majority of users expected, and created friction for them as they used to accidentally add unwanted content and had to delete it. Enterprise deployment for Miro’s Windows app IT Administrators will now be able to install the Miro app for Windows devices on a large-scale basis with the Microsoft Installer. They will be able to deploy it to hundreds of users and machines instantly, with the option to decide between auto update and non-auto update, to have more control over the apps in their organization. Workflow transitions now available for Team, Business, Consultant, Education, and Enterprise Plan users Workflow transitions is a Jira Cards feature that allows to transfer a Jira issue from one status (e.g. 'In Progress') to another one (e.g. 'Resolved') according to the workflows set up by admins in Jira. This update continues enriching Jira Cards experience in Miro making our product more robust for supporting Agile workflows –workflow transitions are important for such use cases as daily stand-ups, sprint planning and reviews, backlog refinement, retros, etc. We will be supporting basic functionality available to Jira users 'out of the box'. It means that all Atlassian & externally developed plugins that can be added on top of the core Jira functionality are currently not supported. Visit Help Center to learn more.
