Edge Middleware and Edge Functions now powered by Vercel Functions

Edge Functions and Edge Middleware are now unified under Vercel Functions infrastructure, running on the Fluid compute platform. All functions—whether using Edge or Node.js runtime—now have consistent pricing based on Active CPU time and support framework-driven automatic deployment.

This changelog entry is historical. Edge Functions are deprecated for new projects. Use with the Node.js runtime and . Use for request-time routing before a response completes.Note:Vercel FunctionsFluid computeRouting Middleware

Functions using the Edge runtime now run on the unified Vercel Functions infrastructure.

This applies to both before and after the cache:

With these changes, all functions including those running the Edge runtime are:

Vercel Routing Middleware is now generally available to all users.
