Hi Community :waving_hand:

July brings updates that make it easier to understand AI usage, manage access, and keep work moving. We grouped this month’s releases by change type and plan tier so you can quickly find the updates most relevant to your team.

What's new in Asana | July 2026

:speech_balloon: Community Requested Releases

Personal tier:

  • AI credit awareness for builders: Responding to community conversations about AI credit transparency, Asana now makes it easier to see when AI rules use credits, review estimated usage for rules with run history, spot when a domain is nearing its credit limit, and understand credit activity in rule execution history.

:sparkles: New Releases

Personal tier:

Starter tier:

  • Microsoft SSO admin console controls: Admins can require Microsoft single sign-on for everyone in their organization from the admin console.
  • Manufacturing project templates: Find Manufacturing templates in the gallery to create industry-specific projects faster.
  • Professional Services project templates: Find Professional Services templates in the gallery to create industry-specific projects faster.
  • More People conditions in Rules: Use dynamic people comparisons and a Task creator condition to route work based on who created a task.
  • Assign from People custom fields in Rules: Use People custom fields to set assignees, subtasks, approvals, and convert-to-task roles.
  • AI Teammates integrations: Connect AI Teammates to Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Outlook Mail, and Outlook Calendar so they can act with context from your team’s tools.

Advanced tier:

  • Portfolio-level inheritance default setting: Set a default portfolio inheritance setting so new projects automatically share portfolio access unless project admins override it.

Enterprise+ tier:

  • API traffic filtering for IP allowlisting: Extend IP allowlisting to API traffic so regulated organizations can apply the same network policy to browser and programmatic access.
  • Creation permissions in role-based access control (RBAC): Restrict who can create projects, public teams, portfolios, goals, read-only links, and rules from admin settings.

:wrench: Improvements

Personal tier:

  • Remove the field name uniqueness constraint: Create global custom fields with duplicate names, then use search to find the right field more easily.
  • Expand or collapse all projects in the task pane: Expand or collapse all projects at once when managing tasks that live in multiple projects.
