Asana Release Notes May 2026

Asana released multiple feature updates across all plan tiers in May 2026, including new out-of-office management, improved inbox filtering, Google Drive and OneDrive integration in Chat, goal widgets in dashboards, and enhanced enterprise capacity planning and SAML provisioning capabilities.

What's new in Asana | May 2026

  • (Personal) New out-of-office entry point + multiple entries: Manage multiple out-of-office entries from your profile so your availability stays accurate across web and mobile.
  • (Personal) Find @ mentions more easily in email + product: Surface @mentions more prominently in Inbox and daily summary emails so you can find and respond to them easily.
  • (Personal) Inbox filters for messages and status updates: Filter Inbox by messages and status updates so you can review the notifications that matter most.
  • (Personal) Edit personalization fields in Settings: Keep your job information (job title, function, and more) accurate after onboarding by updating your details in Settings.
  • (Starter) Google Drive and OneDrive links in Chat: Authenticate supported Google Drive and OneDrive links in Chat so Smart Chat can open files without making you attach them manually.
  • (Starter) Project roles in rule actions: Set project roles as a rule action so that when a rule converts a task into a project template you can reduce manual setup and keep role assignments consistent.
    (Starter) Manual benchmark lines in charts: Add a benchmark line to charts so you can compare actual values against a target or threshold.
  • (Starter) “Task is in any of these projects” rule condition: Use the “Task is in any of these projects” condition to run rules only when a task belongs to a specific project.
  • (Starter) Field access & permissions in custom fields: Find field access and permission controls more easily from custom field dropdowns in projects, portfolios, and Customize menu.
  • (Starter) Attachments in Prompt to Project: Upload files and paste third-party links in Prompt to Project so Asana AI can turn existing resources into a structured project for you.
  • (Starter) Claim ownership before editing AI Studio rules: Claim ownership before editing AI Studio rules so you can make changes under the right permissions.
  • (Advanced) Goal widget in Dashboards: Add a Goal widget to Dashboards so you can track goals alongside your other reporting widgets.
  • (Enterprise) Capacity Plan tab in portfolios: Open a Capacity Plan tab in portfolios so you can review capacity plans as a project view.
  • (Enterprise) Group capacity plans by project custom field: Group capacity plans by project custom fields so you can scan allocations by priority, investment type, and other dimensions.
  • (Enterprise) SAML Just-in-time (JIT) provisioning for Asana Gov: Provision Asana Gov users through SAML JIT even when autojoin is disabled so you can manage access from your identity provider.
