What's new in Asana | September 2025
- (Personal) Less feedback in Slack: Action confirmations now appear as threaded replies instead of top‑level posts, reducing channel noise with the Slack+Asana integration.
- (Personal) Mobile push notifications sync across devices: You won’t receive a mobile push if you’ve already archived the same notification in your Asana inbox on web.
- (Personal) Guest authentication with magic links: Guests can sign in with one-time, time‑bound magic links that meet FedRAMP/NIST identity standards; events are tracked in audit logs and honor domain session policies.
- (Personal) Multi-filter and multi-sort: Apply multiple filters and multiple sorts in project views on Android, matching iOS.
- (Personal) Hide all images on Board view: Use the view options toggle to turn off cover images across your board so you can scan tasks more easily.
- (Personal) Comment drafts sync on Android: Start a comment on web or iOS and pick it up on Android, and vice versa. This initial release supports text-only drafts.
- (Personal) Team pages: Edit the name and description of curated items without deleting and recreating them.
- (Personal) View AI activities and reasoning in task details and Inbox on iOS and Android, matching the web experience. This helps you understand what an AI workflow did and why.
- (Starter) Request access and responses are now available for goals, dashboards, workload, capacity plans, and bundles. On mobile, approvers can now approve or reject these requests in‑app.
- (Starter) AI Studio Plus: Purchase AI Studio Plus directly in the admin console to add AI credits beyond Basic limits. Learn more in AI Studio Plus.
- (Starter) AI Studio attachments: Asana AI can now read attachments from Dropbox and Box.
- (Starter) Data retrieval upgrades: AI Studio can now access more of the Work Graph, making it easier for smart workflows to find the right context.
- (Starter) Smart chat improvements: Smart chat now tailors answers to your role, function, and use case to deliver more relevant responses. It has a better understanding of sections and custom fields when your question is scoped to a project or My tasks, improving answer relevance.
- (Advanced) Goals editor and viewer access levels: Share goals more broadly while controlling who can make changes with new editor and viewer roles.
- (Advanced) Zoom transcript summary automation: Zoom meeting transcripts can now trigger rules and AI Studio workflows to generate meeting summaries and create follow‑up tasks after recorded calls.
- (Enterprise) Permissions Management and Compliance Management add-ons: Purchase advanced permissions and compliance capabilities without a full Enterprise+ subscription.
- (Enterprise) Seamless activation for view-only licenses: Admins in Enterprise and Enterprise+ organizations can assign and manage view-only licenses directly in the admin console without assistance from Asana support.
(Enterprise) Placeholders in capacity planning: Plan work before assigning specific people by using role-based placeholders (like “Designer” or “Backend Engineer”) in capacity plans.
Have an amazing day!
